CHINA INLAND MISSION, 1865-1951
from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London
Part 4: Additional CIM Papers and
Chefoo Mission Papers
There are two main aspects to this fourth part of the CIM archive.
Firstly, we offer a rich variety of memoirs describing the work of the mission (many of these were privately printed and are extremely rare).
Secondly, we offer the papers of the Chefoo Schools Association, 1880-1950, including school registers, 1880-1950, lists of teachers, school papers, and copies of the school magazine The Chefusian, 1928-1934, and minute books of the Association, 1908-1928.
There are also notes putting the work of the CIM and Chefoo Schools in an historical context and assessing the impact of events such as the Japanese invasion of China in 1937, the Japanese assault on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and the Communist Revolution in China in 1949.
