Part 2 continues coverage of the Japan Mission and comprises Original Papers for 1887-1915.

- These missionary archives provide an excellent window on Japanese society, education, religion and culture.
- The Original Papers contain invaluable reports from different mission stations covering the experiences of individual missionaries, their problems and working conditions.
- The material also includes papers on jurisdictions, dioceses, conferences and committee minutes, as well as informative journals and documents relating to CMS schools such as the Bishop Poole Memorial School for Girls in Osaka, the Momoyama Middle School for Boys founded in 1890 and The Central Theological College in Tokyo set up in 1910.
