Part 16 covers the following CMS periodical:

• CMS Awake! – A Missionary Magazine for General Readers, 1891-1921, continued as Eastward Ho!, 1922-1940. 

It is aimed at the general public and is beautifully illustrated.  Later issues include excellent photographs of missionaries, mission stations and indigenous populations.

• Each issue has a detailed contents page.
• The range of topics covered is extremely varied. There are reports, articles and letters from missionaries from all the geographical areas where CMS was active.
• There are articles about shops and shopping in China, festivals and Zenana work in India, epidemic disease in the Punjab, the ravages of war in Putien in China and descriptions of the villages and countryside in Kashmir.
