The main focus in Part 6 is on files on Italy, the Mediterranean Campaigns, Japan, the Joint Intelligence Committee, Landing Craft, Operation Jubilee (the famous Dieppe raid) and Operation Menace (plans for the occupation of Dakkar in French North-West Africa).
- The material on Italy includes the Salerno operations, the Anzio Landings, documents on German forces in Italy, and papers of the Armistice Control Commission and on the administration of the Allied Commission in Italy.
- The files on the Mediterranean Campaigns include much material on Malta, the Italian fleet, Crete, Sicily and the Dodecanese, as well as documents on command structures and on the entirety of the Italian campaign.
- Correspondence and interviews with Mr Matsuoka in 1941, notes on the strength of the Japanese fleet, and some information on the War in the Pacific, are to be found in the files on Japan.
- Material on Landing Craft is central to all the various amphibious campaigns of World War II. A lot of the papers here relate to preparations in 1943 for the D-Day Landings in June 1944.
