The Musikbibliothek der Stadt Leipzig is one of the world's great music libraries.
We are delighted to be able to open up their rich collections of music manuscripts to a wider audience through this microfilm edition. Every manuscript included has been filmed afresh to ensure the highest quality of reproduction. We include:
- Over 170 J S Bach manuscripts from the Pölitz, Becker, Scheibner, Mempell-Preller, Rudorff and Peters collections. Many of these include compositions which are available in manuscript form only.
- 65 Joseph Haydn manuscripts, featuring concerti, symphonies, chamber music and vocal works.
- 22 works by G F Handel, including operas, anthems, and oratorios.
- Letters and musical manuscripts by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
- Autograph letters by Robert and Clara Schumann.
All of which are supported by a detailed 172pp guide.
